Hodgkison received the Australian Institute of Architects Commendation for Urban Design 2012 for this project. This commendation recognizes the masterplanning, landscaping and community spaces of the project and the value of these spaces and design decisions to the end user

The existing flora on site has been preserved to help create immediacy to the identity of the facility. Mature trees provide shading to the new dwellings which are passively cooled, as well as a sense of connectedness to the landscape. The edible plants and gardens available to the residents draw them into community spaces to socialize and learn about cultivating for themselves. Community pavilion and bbq areas central to the site are both popular gathering areas and facilities for teaching, playing, art making and skills development.
